Vecima Broadens Deployment of New TC600E and TransQAM Platforms
VICTORIA – (August 24, 2015) – Vecima Networks Inc. (TSX:VCM), an experienced designer and manufacturer of innovative technology in the broadband equipment market, today announced that deployment of its newly introduced TC600E and TransQAM Platforms is proceeding at a rapid pace. Both new platforms incorporate support for state-of-the-art MPEG-4 HD video, which provides a 30%-to-50% savings in network capacity requirements to support operators’ video offerings. Additionally, the TransQAM offers MPEG-4 to MPEG-2 transcoding, an important function that lets hospitality operators take advantage of MPEG-4 capabilities without having to replace their existing, widely deployed base of MPEG-2 only televisions. Since April of 2015, Vecima has shipped and received more than $7.3 million of orders for these two products.
“We are delighted with the rapid market acceptance of our newer platforms. Wide adoption by leading MSOs, including significant deployments into new tier 1 MSO customers, highlights the value Vecima’s innovative platforms provide to cable operators in the commercial services sector,” said Sumit Kumar, Vecima’s President and CEO. “Vecima’s Terrace and Terrace QAM product families continue to stand as market-leading solutions for all-digital conversion and hospitality high-definition video respectively.”
Using the TC600E or TransQAM, cable operators can continue to support and enhance their commercial video businesses while freeing up valuable network capacity for additional revenue generating services.
