Vecima wants to ensure that our customers and communities are exploring the funding options available to bring high-speed broadband access to all. At Vecima, we believe there is power in connectivity, and it starts with equitable digital access. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s (NTIA) $1 billion Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Grant is a program to expand middle-mile infrastructure (broadband infrastructure that does not connect directly to an end-user) to reduce the cost of connecting unserved and underserved areas. Government entities (states, tribal government, local government, etc.), industry (tech company, electric utility, electric co-op, telecom provider, etc.), non-profit foundations or partnerships are eligible to apply for the Middle Mile program. The Middle Mile program supports the construction, improvement, or acquisition of middle-mile infrastructure. Applications are due on September 30, 2022.  The award will be granted no earlier than March 1, 2023, with a maximum five- year implementation timeline. Learn more and find help with applications on the NTIA website. Vecima’s broadband experts will be at The Independent Show in Orlando, July 24-27, at Booth #231. I’ll be available to discuss funding opportunities and strategies to help your customers and communities thrive with high-speed broadband. Back to all resources
